Displayed below are various images of the game client. The client is the interface through which you play one of the Iron Realms game worlds. All of the IRE game worlds are played through the Nexus Client. The client is made up of several different windows that can be displayed in a variety of ways as you experience the game. On this page, we will explore all of the various windows in the Nexus client.

Output Window

Below is the output window. When you enter a command into the game or when something happens to your character in the game, a message about the event is displayed in the output window. All new output received from the game will appear from the bottom and scroll up.

Scrollback

Users may scroll back through the game history by using the page-up and page-down keys or by using your mouse wheel.

Command Line

The command line is where users input actions into the game. Just type in what you would like to do and press enter.

The down-arrow to the left of the command line will display the last few commands entered into the game.

Using the up and down arrows on your keyboard will also allow you to review the last several commands you have entered into the game.

The right arrow on the right side of the command line is an optional way to send the command to the game and functions in the same way as the enter key.

F-Key Buttons

These are the F-Key buttons, which come pre-filled for new characters. You can edit these keys in the settings menu, which is accessed from the gears icon in the lower right. You can edit the number of buttons and what commands they send to the game when activated.

You can activate the buttons by clicking on them with your mouse or pressing the corresponding F-Key on your keyboard.

Gauges

Above the buttons, you’ll see indicator bars for health, mana, and other stats, depending on which Iron Realms game you’re playing.

Balance and Equilibrium Indicators

To the left of the gauges are the balance and equilibrium indicators. These are not used Starmourn.

  • The hammer icon indicated your balance.
  • The star indicates your equilibrium.

Avatar

To the left of the gauges and buttons is a character avatar. This is initially set by default. You can select one of ours or upload one of your own by clicking on it.

Map Window

In our game worlds, your character is in a room. You move from room to room by typing in directions like north or southwest. This map window indicates the room you are currently in with a map pin. Additionally, you can move your character by clicking on the exits listed in the map window, or by double-clicking on a room.

Map Compass

You can also move by using the Map Compass which appears in the top right corner of your main output window. This is off by default, but can be turned on in your settings.

Character Tab

That is the character window. Along the top, you will see a variety of icons for various states your character may have in the game. If you mouse over the icon, you will see what the icon represents.

Beneath the status icons, is your character name and some basic character information depending on which of the Iron Realms games you are playing.

Below your name and basic stats there is a complete list of the afflictions and defences you currently have. You can click on the "Afflictions" or "Defences" buttons to toggle between the two.

Skills Tab

The skill tab displays your current skillsets. Clicking on a skillset will expand and display all of the individual abilities within that skillset. Clicking on the ability will open a popup with details about the ability.

Inventory Tab

This displays your inventory. Breaking it down by items you are wielding, wearing, and carrying. If an item is a container, you can click on the item to expand it, and view what is inside.

Room Tab

This is the room window. It displays the room description and all of the items in the room. It is broken down by other players, mobs (these are NPCs and monsters), and items.

You can click on an item, mob, or player for a dropdown list of options to interact with it.

Who Tab

This tab lists all of the current players in the game that you can see. You can also click on any organization you belong to for a filtered list.

Clicking on a player name will display their basic HONORS information to the output window.

Quests, Tasks, and Achievement Tabs

These tabs display any quests, tasks, and achievements you may accomplish. These windows vary based on the game you are playing. You can click on the task for a popup to display any information about that task. Not all of the Iron Realms games use all of these activities.

Communications Tab

All chat communication you receive in the game is piped to this window.
